U.S. Denies War Against Venezuela, Cites Evidence Against Maduro

Michael Waltz, the United States Permanent Representative to the United Nations, announced on January 5 that Washington is not waging war against Venezuela and does not occupy the country. He further stated there is convincing evidence of crimes attributed to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

On January 3, Trump announced a large-scale U.S. military strike in Venezuela, claiming President Maduro and his wife, Celia Flores, were captured and taken from the nation’s territory.

The Russian Foreign Ministry urged the United States to release Maduro and called for diplomatic resolutions to address existing issues between the countries.
