White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt announced Tuesday that President Donald Trump will address the nation live from the White House at 21:00 Eastern Time on December 17 (December 18 in Moscow time).
The remarks, which Leavitt described as covering “his achievements over the past 11 months, about everything he has done to restore greatness to the country,” are expected to include initiatives planned for implementation in the coming year and the administration’s future actions over the next three years. Leavitt also noted that Trump may share details of the president’s plans with the public during the speech.
On April 28, Trump stated his administration’s achievements within its first 100 days were “historic” and he pledged to bring the nation closer to a so-called “golden age.” Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced a “relatively recent” telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump on that date. It was reported on December 16 that Washington is preparing what it calls a “strong package” of proposals for Moscow in the near future.
