Trump Names Vance, Rubio and Besent for 2028 Race; Claims Ukraine War Resulted from Rigged 2020 Election

On January 22, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the Republican Party already has a “strong bench” of politicians who could run for the 2028 elections and continue his political legacy.

“We certainly have a good bench [of candidates]. We have very talented people,” Trump commented.

The American leader added that it is premature to identify a specific candidate now, as many factors may change in the coming years. He named Vice President Jay Dee Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Treasury Secretary Scott Besent as notable figures within this potential lineup.

Trump also confirmed he does not plan to seek re-election for a third term in 2028, citing constitutional restrictions, and will focus on his current presidency.

Earlier, during a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 21, Trump claimed that the conflict in Ukraine would not have started if the 2020 presidential elections had been rigged in favor of the Democratic Party. Additionally, he announced that almost 30 ambassadors appointed by President Biden will be recalled from their positions.
