The American company SpaceX has initiated the 11th test launch of its Starship spacecraft prototype. The rocket lifted off from the Starbase spaceport in Texas at 18:24 local time (2:24 Moscow time), with the event streamed on the company’s X platform. The mission aims to deploy eight Starlink satellite simulators into orbit while testing enhancements designed to enable the prototype to return to the launchpad. The flight is anticipated to last approximately one hour, with potential splashdowns in the Indian Ocean.
“Starship will again attempt to fulfill its objective of delivering simulators to orbit and validating new re-entry systems,” the company stated.
Earlier tests of the Starship project have encountered significant setbacks, including three unsuccessful launches out of the last four attempts, alongside delays in fuel testing pushed to at least 2026.
