Space Station Crew Set for Premature Homecoming Following Medical Crisis

One of the astronauts on the International Space Station (ISS) has been diagnosed with health problems, and therefore the crew of the CREW-11 mission will return to Earth ahead of schedule. This was announced on January 8 by the head of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Jared Isaacman.

“Yesterday, on January 7, one crew member experienced a medical problem, and his condition is stable,” Isaakman said.

The identity and diagnosis of the sick cosmonaut will not be made public.

Isaacman also noted that NASA will return the crew of the CREW-11 mission to Earth ahead of schedule. The time of return will be determined as the ship prepares and weather conditions change.

At the same time, the next mission, CREW-12, will be sent to the ISS in mid-February.
