The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on January 8 that the West’s plan to further militarize Ukraine aims at escalation and is far from a peaceful solution. The ministry indicated that military units and facilities stationed in Ukraine will be considered legitimate combat targets by the Russian Armed Forces.
