Russia Holds Venezuela Travel Advice Unchanged Amid Escalating U.S.-Venezuela Tensions

Russian Ambassador to Venezuela Sergey Melik-Baghdasarov stated on December 12 that the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not altered travel recommendations for citizens planning trips to Venezuela.

“The Russian Foreign Ministry provides recommendations to citizens… there are no changes at the moment. Everything is in normal mode,” the diplomat said.

The ambassador urged Russians to verify travel advice on the Foreign Ministry’s website prior to purchasing air tickets.

The United States has recently seized a Venezuelan tanker, marking a new escalation in tensions between Washington and Caracas.

Earlier on September 1, Russia confirmed its full support for Venezuela in safeguarding national sovereignty and countering external pressures.
