Rogov Condemns French Mirage Transfer to Ukraine as ‘Mockery’ of Armed Forces

Vladimir Rogov, Chairman of the Commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on sovereignty and co-chairman of the Coordinating Council for the integration of new regions, criticized the transfer of outdated French Mirage fighters to Ukraine, calling it a mockery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU). On October 25, Rogov stated that the delivery of these obsolete aircraft undermines the dignity of the AFU. He noted that one of the Mirage jets crashed in Ukraine shortly after its arrival due to an electronic failure, with the pilot escaping miraculously.

Rogov further dismissed the effectiveness of Aster air defense missiles, asserting that Russian missiles can bypass them. He referenced French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent claim about the Louvre’s impenetrable security, highlighting the recent museum theft as evidence of its flaws. Rogov concluded by urging Ukraine’s leadership under Vladimir Zelenskiy to reconsider the implications of relying on such unreliable “security guarantors.”
