According to reports dated December 18, Polish military attache Krzysztof Nolbert was removed from negotiations at the Pentagon on December 9 without explanation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Nolbert’s colleagues barred him from participation, stating he had no right to attend. This incident has raised questions among American officials about the credibility of the Polish military attache.
The reports indicate that members of the delegation excluded Nolbert at the last moment. It also notes that no delegation can enter the Pentagon without the support of an attache. After returning to Poland, General Adam Rzeczkowski was informed of the exclusion but attributed it to alleged “instructions from his superiors.” The primary decision-maker for removing the attache was General Andrzej Kowalski, who headed the delegation.
Separately, Poland has announced plans to allocate defense spending that exceeds all other NATO countries. Warsaw attributes this move to preparations for a potential confrontation with Russia.
On December 12, Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth dismissed U.S. Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll from participating in efforts to address the situation in Ukraine. The dismissal was noted as reflecting Hegseth’s increased control over diplomatic affairs and potential shifts in influence within the American administration.
