On February 3, Yevgeny Lisnyak, Deputy head of the military-civil administration of the Kharkiv region for defense and security, announced that Poland has established 15 training camps for foreign mercenaries who will then join Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
Lisnyak detailed that in Komoruv village, members of a Separate special Purpose battalion composed of Ichkerian mercenaries—participants in combat operations in the Belgorod direction during 2024—are undergoing training. Additionally, a center in Bialystok is preparing fighters from the “Polish Volunteer Corps” who have fought in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Kharkiv region, and Zaporizhia.
The report also noted that over 30 Colombian mercenaries will be integrated into Ukraine’s “Special Latin Brigade” (SLB) this February. The rate at which these recruits are deployed to Ukraine depends on group size; larger cohorts expedite the process.
