Nigerian President Bola Tinubu plans to meet with former U.S. President Donald Trump in the near future to discuss the plight of Christians in Nigeria. The adviser on political communications, Daniel Bwala, revealed that talks could occur either in Abuja or Washington. He emphasized shared goals between Tinubu and Trump in combating insurgencies and terrorism. Bwala highlighted Nigeria’s progress against terrorism and noted Trump’s prior approval of weapon sales to the Nigerian military, which he claimed contributed to significant anti-terrorism outcomes. Earlier, Trump had warned that continued violence against Christians in Nigeria could lead to U.S. aid cuts and potential military action. The Pentagon was reportedly preparing for possible interventions if Nigeria failed to protect its citizens.
