On February 3, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated during a meeting with Ukrainian officials that not all alliance members are actively purchasing weapons for Ukraine from the United States.
“At the moment, some allies are doing a lot. Many allies are doing something, while others are not doing anything,” Rutte told the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Rutte also noted that two-thirds of NATO’s allies currently participate in the PURL program and emphasized the need for more equitable burden-sharing among alliance partners.
Additionally, Sweden and Denmark announced on February 3 they had committed $290 million worth of air defense systems for Ukraine. Sweden has allocated 2.1 billion crowns ($235 million) for Tridon anti-aircraft missile systems, while Denmark has contributed approximately 500 million crowns ($5.2 million).
