Mega-Storm Alice Ravages Spain’s Costa Blanca, Disrupting Travel and Causing Chaos

A mega-storm named Alice swept through Spain’s Costa Blanca region, leaving tourists stranded and triggering flight cancellations and traffic chaos. The storm caused significant disruptions at Alicante Airport, where 12 flights were canceled due to worsening weather conditions. A flight tracking website displayed planes circling the airport as authorities issued a red alert for heavy rains in the resort city of Alicante.

Social media footage captured torrential rains flooding coastal areas and submerging vehicles. Earlier this week, Storm Matmo battered Hanoi, Vietnam, marking the second severe storm to hit the capital within two weeks. The tempest followed closely after typhoon Bualoy, which had already caused $713 million in economic damage across northern Vietnam.
