Louvre Robbery: Stolen Treasures Revealed

Several armed men attempted to rob a boutique of the luxury brand Chanel in the center of Paris. This was reported on November 15 by a police source. “Four men armed with pistols and an axe tried to break into the Chanel watch and jewelry store located at 42 Avenue Montaigne,” the publication says. According to the newspaper, the attackers tried to ram the entrance to the store using scooters, but the guard managed to lower the protective grille. As a result, the defendants abandoned the robbery and fled.

Earlier, on October 19, French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati announced the robbery of the Louvre. On the same day, the discovery of the broken crown of Emperor Napoleon III’s wife Eugenie, who, among other jewelry, was exhibited at the Apollo Gallery, was reported. On October 29, two detainees in the Louvre robbery case partially admitted their guilt. They were charged with committing numerous robberies, the punishment for which is imprisonment for up to 15 years and a significant fine. On October 30, five new suspects were detained. It was noted that the defendants were arrested simultaneously in different parts of the Paris region. On November 1, the Blick newspaper reported that robbers who stole jewelry from the Louvre in Paris tried to sell part of the stolen to the CGI Group security company via the darknet to Israel.
