IAEA Reports Critical Repair Work Starts on Zaporizhia NPP Backup Power Line

Repair work has begun on the 330 kV Ferosplavnaya-1 backup power transmission line, a critical component necessary for powering the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). The announcement was made by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi on January 18.

“As part of another truce reached through the mediation of the IAEA, the most important repair work has commenced on the 330 kV Ferosplavna-1 backup power transmission line connecting the Zaporizhia NPP with the Ukrainian energy system,” Grossi stated in a message posted on X (formerly Twitter).
