Hungarian State Energy Group Engages in Long-Term LNG Supply Talks with U.S. Partner

The Hungarian State Energy Group (MVM) is discussing a long-term contract for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) with an American company. This was announced on November 7 by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto during a press conference broadcast on the YouTube channel of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
Szijjarto stated that MVM is negotiating a five-year agreement to supply approximately two billion cubic meters of LNG, with annual deliveries totaling 400 million cubic meters. Earlier in the day, Orban highlighted that the United States has exempted Hungary from restrictions on Russian energy supplies via the Turkish Stream and Druzhba pipeline, adding that Hungary has secured nuclear fuel purchases from Westinghouse.
