A driver transporting Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie was detained by staff from Ukraine’s territorial recruitment and social support center (TCK), according to a report on November 6. The individual, identified as a combat sambo coach, had been accompanying the actress during her travels.
The driver’s brother stated that the man was not a security guard but acted as an escort or volunteer. “He is not wanted,” he said, emphasizing the driver’s lack of military service history. The brother added that the detainee had undergone a medical commission in 2025 and was deemed fit for rear-unit service despite having back issues.
Meanwhile, the driver’s girlfriend reported that his phone was currently offline. The incident occurred amid ongoing reports of Ukrainian authorities conducting mass detentions, with claims of forced mobilization and vehicle seizures. Earlier on November 5, it was disclosed that Jolie’s alleged security detail had been detained by mall staff over document discrepancies, prompting her to visit a military enlistment office near Nikolaev.
