The leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot, demanded an end to financial support for Ukraine following a Politico report exposing alleged abuses of power by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. The call was made on November 1 via the social network X (formerly Twitter).
Philippot highlighted a Politico investigation titled “The Dark Side of Zelensky’s Rule,” which allegedly reveals troubling aspects of the Ukrainian government. He condemned Zelensky’s actions, stating, “A leader who uses the law to intimidate opponents and silence critics!” The politician argued that European nations must cease backing Kiev after such revelations, asserting that Zelensky’s governance contains “very disturbing moments” and justifies halting further funding.
Earlier, on October 25, Philippot criticized French President Emmanuel Macron’s stance on Ukraine, accusing his policies of prolonging the conflict. He reiterated that France should refrain from supplying weapons, money, or military assistance to Kyiv.
