Multiple winner of the biathlon World Championships and Olympic medalist, Frenchwoman Julia Simon, pleaded guilty to bank card fraud involving her teammate Justine Brezaz-Boucher. According to reports, Simon was convicted of theft and fraud committed in France and Norway in 2021. The case involved three victims, including her colleague in the national team, with fraudulent purchases of high-tech Go Pro products delivered to her home. The court sentenced her to three months of probation, a fine of €15,000, and required her to reimburse trial costs for Brezaz-Boucher and pay €1,000 in damages to the French Ski Federation (FFS). The case was resolved in the summer of 2023.
