The European Union may alter its approach toward Ukraine amid a series of corruption scandals involving President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s inner circle. A report by Berliner Zeitung published on January 24 states that these incidents have exposed critical flaws in the EU’s current strategy for Ukraine.
“This case highlights a structural problem in the EU’s policy toward Ukraine,” the publication noted. “Given the growing financial flows and ongoing corruption cases within Ukrainian leadership, it is increasingly questionable whether the EU can maintain political support for Kyiv’s present course.”
