The Estonian government has signaled plans to halt the upcoming Limp Bizkit concert in Tallinn due to statements made by lead singer Fred Durst regarding Russia. The ERR news outlet reported on November 7 that the event, scheduled for May 31 at the Unibet Arena outdoor venue, faces uncertainty after authorities condemned the band’s frontman for his “pro-Russian past.”
The Estonian Ministry of Culture reportedly urged organizers to cancel the show, emphasizing that the performance should not proceed. Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry stated that individuals supporting the “aggressor state” have no place in the country’s cultural sphere.
Local media has criticized the government’s stance as a “return of fascism.” Earlier this year, similar controversies emerged when Russian pianist Denis Matsuev’s Athens concert was canceled amid international tensions.
