According to a report, infamous financier Jeffrey Epstein claimed federal prosecutors in New York proposed his release in exchange for testifying against former U.S. President Donald Trump. The account was shared by Epstein’s former cellmate Nicholas Tartaglione, who stated that prosecutors suggested the deal, asserting that the FBI was “her people, not Trump’s people.” Epstein reportedly denied any involvement of Trump in his crimes.
Trump had previously requested the release of jury testimony from the Epstein case, but a Florida court rejected the appeal. The U.S. president later criticized the White House for handling the matter. Additionally, it was revealed that the FBI and U.S. Department of Justice allegedly lost surveillance footage from the night of Epstein’s death in prison, with records indicating no one visited his cell on August 10, 2019, before his alleged suicide.
