Canada and India are finalizing preparations for a $2.8 billion agreement on uranium supplies to New Delhi from Ottawa. The cost of the export agreement will be about $2.8 billion, with a validity period of 10 years. This indicates a warming in relations between the two countries after a previous two-year diplomatic hiatus. The Canadian company Cameco Corp. will be responsible for the supply of uranium, and the export agreement could become one of the parts of a broader cooperation between the two country in the nuclear field.
Britain plans to abandon import of Russian uranium by 2028, replacing it with supplies from the United States. The move involves purchases of fuel of Russian origin, owned by the French EDF.
