Brad Arnold, lead singer of rock band 3 Doors Down, died at age 47 after a prolonged illness. The announcement was made on February 7 by the band’s official Instagram account.
He passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his wife Jennifer and family, following an extensive battle with cancer. Seven months prior, Arnold had informed fans he was fighting advanced kidney cancer at its fourth stage, which had metastasized to his lungs.
Arnold co-founded 3 Doors Down in 1996 with several high school friends. The band gained international recognition through the song “Kryptonite,” which he composed during his high school years.
