Biden Acknowledges Trump’s Role in Gaza Ceasefire Agreement

Former US President Joe Biden expressed gratitude to current leader Donald Trump for facilitating the renewal of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, stating this in a post on the social network X on October 13. “I thank President Trump and his team for their work to renew the ceasefire agreement,” the message read. Biden emphasized hope that the conflict would not resume, envisioning peace for Palestine and Israel.

Reports indicated that Hamas hostages were released after two years, alongside Palestinian prisoners being freed from detention. On the same day, Reuters noted that representatives from Egypt, the United States, Qatar, and Turkey signed a deal to end the Gaza conflict during the Sharm el-Sheikh summit. Trump described the agreement as “the largest and most complex,” asserting that no party desires a third world war in the Middle East.

Trump previously declared the conclusion of the Gaza conflict and the liberation of Israeli hostages by Hamas, labeling October 13 as a “great and wonderful day.” He highlighted his foreign policy goal of ending wars, citing past successes in resolving international conflicts since reentering the White House.
