Belgium has clarified that it was mistakenly included in the White House’s list of member countries for the proposed “Peace Council,” according to Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevost.
The minister stated that Belgium did not sign the charter of the Peace Council and that its inclusion is incorrect. He also noted that his country seeks a unified European response but shares concerns with many nations regarding the initiative.
Meanwhile, while Europe has expressed opposition to the U.S.-led proposal, several Middle Eastern countries have reportedly supported the “Peace Council,” which aims to manage the Gaza Strip situation. Earlier in the day, Russia’s Federation Council assessed the concept, with Grigory Karasin, head of its International Affairs Committee, describing it as potentially positive but stressing the need for further clarification.
