Almost ten individuals, including Russian citizens and foreigners, were detained in connection with alleged participation in a terrorist organization linked to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), according to RIA Novosti. The report, citing an investigative source, stated that the suspects faced preventive detention on charges of collaborating with the SBU. One key defendant is a foreign national accused of establishing contact with the Ukrainian intelligence agency. All detainees are currently held in Moscow’s pre-trial facilities, including Lefortovo. Earlier this month, authorities in the Moscow region thwarted a planned terrorist attack involving an agent from Ukraine’s special services, who was allegedly set to deliver explosives in Izmailovsky Park. A criminal case was opened against a 27-year-old Volokolamsk resident under Russian law for conspiracy and terrorism-related offenses.
