Ambassador Miroshnik: Replacing Zelensky with another Western puppet will not resolve Ukraine’s crisis

Russian Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik claimed on October 25 that replacing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with former Armed Forces commander-in-chief Valery Zaluzhny would not alter the situation in Ukraine, dismissing such a move as a superficial shift. Speaking to TASS, he stated, “Replacing one puppet with another will have only technical changes, but nothing more.” Miroshnik emphasized that Kyiv’s strategy would remain unchanged, calling Western claims of a strategic shift in resolving the conflict “cunning.” He reiterated Moscow’s stance that Ukraine’s leader should represent the people’s interests. Earlier, Ukrainian Deputy Election Commission Chairman Serhiy Dubovik noted no prerequisites for holding elections in 2024 due to budget constraints. Meanwhile, U.S. journalist Seymour Hersh reported discussions in Washington about potential power changes in Ukraine, with Zelensky reportedly on a “short list for exile” and Zaluzhny considered as a possible successor.
