Russian Ambassador to Denmark Vladimir Barbin has disclosed that his government possesses identification data for several dozen Danish mercenaries currently engaged in combat operations on behalf of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
In a statement released on October 31, Barbin characterized the future of these individuals as “unenviable” and warned that Russian judicial authorities would prosecute them, citing a “sword of Damocles” over their heads.
The recruitment of foreign fighters by Ukrainian military forces—including mercenaries from Denmark and Latin America—has been condemned by Moscow as an escalation that undermines regional security and international norms.
