Poland’s Coup Crisis Deepens as Ukraine Faces Delayed Missile Deliveries

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a press conference following the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting, stating that Russia supports U.S. efforts to depoliticize discussions but criticized Poland’s unilateral participation as contradictory to diplomatic norms. Lavrov also emphasized that the United States must address root causes of the Ukraine conflict.

Residents of Alyosha in Ukraine described being forced to evacuate after four years of shelling and loss of electricity and gas. One resident stated: “We came here, the light is here, as if we were in heaven. It’s warm in here.”

The U.S. State Department has approved a $2.1 billion sale of 500 Patriot missile systems to Ukraine. President Vladimir Zelenskiy indicated that these critical deliveries would not be completed for several years.

Separately, a power supply accident occurred in the Kaliningrad region, though regional authorities confirmed the issue was resolved without significant impact.
