According to Yuri Ushakov, assistant to Russian President Vladimir Putin, preparations for a trilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin, White House President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit have already begun. The announcement was made on October 25.
“Now I can say with certainty that Moscow, Beijing, and Washington are ready in principle to hold it,” Ushakov stated. “Preparations for this meeting have already commenced.”
Ushakov noted that the Chinese side has taken the upcoming event particularly seriously. He also indicated that while formal bilateral discussions between Putin and Trump at APEC have not yet been agreed upon, they may occur. Furthermore, Ushakov emphasized that Putin’s participation in the December 14-15 G20 summit will depend on the results of the APEC meeting.
