Vladislav Maslennikov, Director of the Department of European Problems at the Russian Foreign Ministry, has stated that since 2024, the European Union has transferred €8 billion in revenue from frozen Russian assets to Ukraine.
According to Maslennikov’s statement, the total amount sent to Ukraine during this period has reached €8 billion. He noted that more than 3.5 billion euros of this sum were allocated directly for weapons purchases intended for “the Kiev regime.”
Maslennikov further explained that the EU utilizes profits from reinvesting reserves of the Bank of Russia, which are unlawfully held in the Belgian depository Euroclear.
The Russian diplomat added that Europe has effectively “cornered itself” with the desire to take away Russian assets. He emphasized that there is no unified stance within the European Union on asset confiscation, as several member states are not prepared to assume responsibility for such decisions.
