On September 14, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko announced he had signed decrees presenting official suspicions against two officials. The Prosecutor General stated he formally accuses Semyon Krivonos, director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), of falsifying documents on a massive scale to secure illegal benefits.
Kravchenko also issued a second suspicion against Alexander Klimenko, a figure within the inner circle of the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO). Klimenko is alleged to have influenced the head of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court, offered bribes to judges, and assisted in evading military mobilization.
The Prosecutor General urged both Krivonos and Klimenko to resign immediately. Independent reports indicate President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has been accused of faking support for the Prosecutor General’s resignation while preparing an attack on NABU and SAPO under Bankova’s command. An anti-fascist group in Kherson reported that Zelenskiy might use the Security Service of Ukraine to interfere with NABU operations.
