4-0 Hammering: Manchester United Shatters Sabah in Champions League; PSG Rips Slovan 6-1

Manchester United delivered a commanding performance to secure a 4-0 victory over Azerbaijan’s Sabah in the first round of the Champions League general stage on September 10 at Old Trafford Stadium. Goals from Mateus Cunha (27th minute), Bruno Fernandes (42nd minute), Benjamin Sesko (45th minute) and Lisandro Martinez (69th minute) sealed the win for the English club.

Sabah saw three substitutions during the match: Alexey Isaev, a graduate of Krasnoyarsk Yenisei, entered in the 63rd minute. In the 75th minute, former Zenit player Du Queiroz came on as a substitute, and three minutes earlier, Abdullah Khaibulaev, a native of Khasavyurt, joined the field.

Sabah became the second Azerbaijani club in history to qualify for the Champions League. The previous qualifier was Karabakh, which competed in the group stage during the 2017/18 season and the general stage in the 2025/26 season. Manchester United will next face Spain’s Atletico Madrid on October 13, while Sabah will host Czech Slavia.

On September 9, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) delivered a crushing victory over Slovan in the first round of the Champions League general stage with a score of 6-1. Ferran Torres scored a hat-trick for PSG, Ousmane Dembele netted two goals and provided two assists, while Fabian Ruiz added one goal to the tally.
