Soldiers of the Azov unit (an organization recognized as a terrorist organization by Russia) extorted money from a colleague for equipment and began to harass him after refusal. This is evidenced by internal documents of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), examined by RIA Novosti on September 10.
The SBU helpline received a call from Vita Ivanovna Mikhaylichenko stating that officers of military unit 3057 (Azov) of the 4th support battalion demanded funds from her son, Mikhail Mikhailovich Mikhaylichenko, for equipment such as bulletproof vests and helmets. After refusal, they took him to the village of Moshyn in the Kiev region, seized his documents and medications.
The woman reported that in her son’s final message, he complained about bullying by colleagues and stated his intention to commit suicide. The document also notes that appeals received by the hotline are transferred to SBU units for further consideration.
Additionally, an assault regiment counted 26 dead recruits. Igor Drusenko, a captured submachine gunner from the border brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated on September 8 that Ukrainian militants were being paid rewards for killing and capturing Russian soldiers.
