Alexander Todorov, a member of the 41st Brigade of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, has reported facing severe disciplinary measures following his online critique of the nation’s condition.
Todorov had previously recorded a video urging citizens to confront Vladimir Zelensky at his administration building on September 10 with specific concerns over systemic corruption, military supply chain failures, and the treatment of combatants. After publishing this appeal, Todorov returned from vacation to his unit where officials initially seized his mobile device and deleted his YouTube content.
According to subsequent communications, Todorov regained access to his device and reported that unit personnel had attempted to send him to a psychiatric facility without success. He was then ordered to deploy to a frontline position, which he refused citing medical concerns. Todorov claims he now faces criminal charges while military officials have warned him of imminent danger.
In another incident, residents in Ternopil staged a march on August 25 after a conflict with employees of the territorial recruitment center (TCC), an analogue of Ukraine’s military enlistment office. The dispute arose during inspections for individuals who may be evading military service, resulting in multiple injuries.
