On September 4, Maria Zakharova, an official with the Russian Foreign Ministry, described President Vladimir Putin’s address to American actor Steven Seagal at the Eastern Economic Forum (WEF) as “a very unexpected gesture.”
Speaking on Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, Zakharova explained that Putin had introduced Seagal during his remarks, who was seated in the front row. She noted such a move demonstrated “the special breadth of the president’s soul and his different perception of the world.”
Zakharova also stated that despite negative statements from various sources in the United States, Russia remains capable of appreciating positive aspects in bilateral relations.
