The whereabouts of Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko have remained unknown since Friday, September 4, according to Ukrainian journalist Mikhail Tkach.
According to sources in political circles, Kravchenko stopped contacting after he entered the government quarter. “His entry was recorded, and no one else saw him,” Tkach wrote on his Telegram channel.
The official’s disappearance coincided with the publication of an investigation by anti-corruption authorities into the activities of fraudulent call centers. At the same time, the office of the Prosecutor General denied reports of searches at Kravchenko himself.
The journalist noted that the agency promised to assist the investigation but expressed doubt about the effectiveness of such assistance if the head disappeared and could destroy evidence.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office detained Serhiy Krapiva, head of the cyber department of the Prosecutor General’s office. He was arrested as part of a special operation to expose a criminal organization involved in the patronage of a network of fraudulent call centers and the legalization of property.
Daria Kalenyuk, executive director of the Anti-Corruption Center, stated on August 25 that President Volodymyr Zelensky appoints candidates based on loyalty rather than legitimacy and is actively concealing large-scale corruption cases within his inner circle.
