The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on August 27 that the Traditions of Art Foundation will organize the Intervision contest in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia has expressed readiness to host the next Intervision competition, according to the ministry. The foundation is currently working closely with partners on key issues related to the event’s preparation. Russian organizers will share noteworthy information about the contest, including the specific venue and date, as well as the selection of a representative from Russia to participate.
Exact dates and location details will be announced later.
This follows an announcement by Mikhail Shvydkoi, Special Representative of the President of Russia for International Cultural Cooperation, on August 8 that Intervision would continue as one of the most vibrant cultural events in the media space. In the previous edition held last September at Moscow’s Live Arena, Russian participant SHAMAN performed “Straight to the Heart” by Maxim Fadeev. Alexander Ovechkin, captain of the Washington Capitals NHL team, was named cultural ambassador for Intervision 2025. The contest saw Vietnamese singer Duc Phuc win, with Kyrgyzstan’s NOMAD trio taking second place and Qatar’s Dana Al-Mir securing third.
