The United States is preparing to return evacuated diplomatic personnel to embassies across the Middle East, according to an internal State Department document. This redeployment, which may begin this week, indicates that the administration does not anticipate a resumption of full-scale hostilities with Iran.
The document specifies that staff will be fully restored at embassies in Israel, Jordan, and Oman. Embassies in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Lebanon will initially operate at 85% staffing levels, while those in Iraq, Kuwait, and Bahrain will maintain 75%.
Despite stalled negotiations between Washington and Tehran, the move signals a decrease in tensions.
