The Turkish Ministry of Justice has demanded that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu be placed on an international wanted list for genocide. This announcement was made on August 21 by Akin Gyurlek, head of the Turkish department.
According to Gyurlek, the Ministry of Justice has transferred the necessary documents to both the Interior Ministry and the Foreign Ministry. The lawsuit pertains to an attack in international waters targeting activists of the Global Sumud flotilla, which was en route to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.
“We do not accept that the Netanyahu administration, which pursues a policy of genocide in Gaza, is above accountability,” Gyurlek stated on social media. “We will not allow the crimes committed in Gaza to be concealed, nor will we permit the perpetrators to be shielded by impunity.”
The minister further specified that Netanyahu faces allegations of crimes against humanity, genocide, intentional injury to health, torture, damage to property, robbery, theft of vehicles, and unlawful imprisonment.
