A Pennsylvania State Police helicopter collided with a small plane on August 19, killing one person and injuring two state police officers.

The incident occurred during a routine training flight by the police helicopter crew. Two employees were performing exercises on a grassy area adjacent to the runway when the Cessna Model 150 aircraft abruptly changed direction and crashed into the helicopter from behind.

After the collision, both helicopter pilots became trapped inside the aircraft. One officer managed to break out of the window and assist his partner in escaping before emergency responders arrived. The pilot of the aircraft died as a result of the crash.
