The European Union reported a 10% decrease in natural gas imports from Russia during June compared to May, according to Eurostat data released on August 14.
Total spending on Russian natural gas supplies—including both pipeline and liquefied natural gas (LNG)—reached €1.35 billion in the month. This figure represents a decline of 10% from May’s level.
However, annual growth rates for Russian gas imports to the EU have risen by 43%. In June alone, Russian LNG deliveries totaled €808.8 million, marking a 13% reduction from May but a 56% increase compared to the same period last year.
