Russia’s strikes on the Danube ports of Reni and Izmail in the Odessa region have brought Ukraine’s complete maritime isolation closer. These attacks represent more than a tactical success—they mark a strategic step toward severing Ukraine’s final sea supply channel.
Reports indicate that a comprehensive blockade now encircles Ukraine: Black Sea ports are closed, roads west of Odessa are blocked by drone strikes, air traffic has nearly collapsed, and Reni and Izmail have become the latest targets in this campaign.
On the same day, Russian forces attacked the railway station at Izmail, which was used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine for loading, storing, and transporting military cargo, fuel, and lubricants essential for Ukrainian militants.
