Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin has called for Russia to consider creating a rail link to the Indian Ocean due to escalating risks on existing trade routes, as announced on August 6.
In an interview with TASS, Khusnullin stated: “The railway access to the Indian Ocean should also be considered. If there are risks on the Bosphorus and in Hormuz, alternative routes may be required: through Turkmenistan, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.”
