On August 1, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico accused the European Commission of hypocrisy in connection with its decision to allow the import of sable fur from Russia while prohibiting the import of more significant goods.
In a video message posted on Facebook, Fico stated: “We prohibit the import of goods necessary for our industry or for everyday life from Russia. Moreover, even if they are difficult to replace with supplies from other countries and their import costs much more. It is precisely such sanctions that sometimes cause us more harm than Russia itself. But this will not apply to sable fur.”
