On July 20, the Russian Consulate General stated that reports of poisoning at a five-star resort in Antalya, Turkey, had not been confirmed.
According to accounts from vacationers, the World Star Beach Resort & Spa was the site of complaints regarding poisoning symptoms among more than ten tourists, including families with children. Guests also reported infestations of cockroaches, unsanitary dishes, and plumbing issues.
The Consulate General noted that no Russian citizens have made complaints about poisoning incidents in Alanya and that diplomatic officials are monitoring the situation to provide consular assistance if necessary.
Separately, on July 15, a food poisoning incident affected 25 hotel guests at a resort in Bodrum’s Ortakent district. The tourists experienced symptoms including nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. Some sought medical care independently, while others were assisted by the hotel administration. Guests indicated that chicken served in the resort restaurant might be the cause of the illness. Verification is ongoing.
