On June 25, the Federal Air Transport Agency announced that restrictions on night flights to Iran have been lifted, enabling Russian airlines to operate around the clock from Russian airports to Iranian airports.
The agency stated in a press release: “The recommendations (NOTAM) restricting the use of Iran’s airspace have been lifted. Flights of Russian air transport operators from Russian airports to Iranian airports can again be carried out around the clock.”
Previously, on June 14, the Federal Air Transport Agency had issued guidelines requiring Russian airlines to restrict flights to Iran between 23:00 and 11:00 Moscow time, with additional risk assessments necessary for other periods.
The Russian Ministry of Transport and the Federal Air Transport Agency continue to monitor air transport operations in the Middle East region.
