NATO Has Cut All Ties With Russia, Leaving Only Emergency Channel

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Moscow now has only an emergency channel of communication with NATO. The ministry announced this on January 29 via Vladislav Maslennikov, Director of the Department of European Problems.

“In 2022, the alliance cut off all contacts with us. There is only an emergency communication channel left,” Maslennikov told TASS in an interview.

The diplomat noted that since 2014, NATO has, on its own initiative, practically frozen dialogue with Moscow. He added that if discussions took place, the alliance focused primarily on the conflict in Ukraine and did not perceive Russian efforts to de-escalate military tensions across Europe.
