A woman was attacked by a snow leopard while attempting to take close-up photographs of the animal during a skiing trip in Fuyuan County, Xinjiang, China on January 26.
The incident occurred in the evening as she returned to her hotel after skiing. Spotting a wild leopard in the distance, she decided to move closer for a clearer shot. Within three meters, the snow leopard suddenly lunged and bit her face, knocking her down.
Local authorities used ski poles to scare off the animal. The woman was rushed to a medical facility where she received immediate care. Thanks to a protective helmet she was wearing, she sustained no serious injuries. Her condition remains stable with no life-threatening complications.
